Private swim lesson — one-on-one coaching

Private Lessons

One-on-one instruction fully tailored to your swimmer's level and goals. The fastest path to water safety and confidence — for babies, beginners, and competitive year-round swimmers.

Woodstock Junior Coach or Acworth Senior Coach

Swimming with a sibling? Book them together rather than as two separate lessons — choose the second-child option when you book. Each child still gets their own 30-minute private lesson at the standard rate, back to back, or at the same time when two coaches are free. It keeps your lessons in one block instead of scattered across the day.

Semi-private swim lesson — two swimmers sharing instruction
Semi-Private · 1:2

Semi-Private Lessons

Two swimmers at the same skill level or siblings share a lesson. For friends that have similar skill levels, this is a fun time to help each other improve swimming skills, plus it lowers the cost per lesson and the family can carpool to help with driving time. This is great for siblings because it represents family time at the pool. Teaching siblings how to work with each other, motivate each other, how to take turns and ultimately to keep each other safe is invaluable.

Woodstock Junior Coach or Acworth Senior Coach
$53
per swimmer / 30-min lesson

Booking two swimmers? Book one semi-private slot and add your second swimmer when you book — both children share the same 30-minute lesson, taking turns with the coach, and both are in the water the whole time. The price above is per swimmer.

Happy Baby Water Time · Ages 6 mo – 2 yrs

Happy Baby Water Time

Parent-and-baby sessions designed to build water comfort and safety habits from the very start. Classes run Friday and Saturday mornings, 30 minutes, up to 4 swimmers. The earlier we start, the more natural the water feels.

$48
per 25-min class — any Friday or Saturday

Come when it suits you. There is no course to sign up for and no set number of weeks. Book whichever Fridays and Saturdays work for your family — one a week, both days, or just the occasional class when your schedule allows.

Coming most weeks? Ask us about the subscription option — it works out cheaper than booking class by class.

A coach in the water face to face with a young child during a Side by Side parent and child swim lesson
Side by Side · Ages 2 – 4

Side by Side

You don’t have to hand your child to someone you’ve just met — not on the first day, and not before you’re ready. Sometimes it’s the child who needs time in the water. Sometimes it’s the parent. Most often it’s a little of both, and neither one is a problem to be fixed. Side by Side gives all three of us time to build trust: your child with the water, your child with their coach, and you with us.

One coach, one child, one parent — and you’re in the water the whole time. No group, no waiting a turn, no other children to be measured against. Your coach works with both of you: how to hold your child, when to give space, and how to keep bath time and vacations calm long after the lesson ends. We use songs and rhythm to help little swimmers relax and remember, and we never push a child past what they’re ready for — progress here is measured in comfort first and skills second. Taught by our senior instructors, Coach Kelly and Coach Shanna — both Level 1 Swim Angelfish® certified and trained specifically for children who find water frightening.

A Structured Path

The Swim Ladder

16 lessons over 7 weeks, built to move a swimmer from first comfort to real skill — and the 17th and 18th lessons are free.

Swim Ladder · 16 lessons

Swim Ladder

Skills stick when they are practiced close together. The Swim Ladder builds up and then eases back down over 7 weeks — 1 lesson the first week, then 2, 3, 4, then 3, 2, and 1. That rhythm gives a swimmer enough repetition to build a real foundation, then space to hold onto it. You choose all 16 dates and times yourself. The lessons are billed monthly, and we encourage all families to book maintenance lessons afterward. Those lessons add to what was built during the Swim Ladder and compound the skills and confidence needed to be safe and truly enjoy being in the water. Buy the 16 and the 17th and 18th lessons are free.

Woodstock Senior Coach
$616
a month for 2 months — $1,232 total
Woodstock Junior Coach or Acworth Senior Coach
$536
a month for 2 months — $1,072 total

That is 16 lessons at the usual price — $77 each with a senior coach at Woodstock, $67 with a junior coach or at Acworth. The ladder runs across seven weeks, which spans two billing cycles, so it is charged as two monthly payments rather than one lump sum. You buy 16 lessons and the 17th and 18th are free — 18 lessons for the price of 16.

Good to Know

Before the first lesson

Two questions almost every parent asks us.

How many lessons will it take for my child to learn how to swim?

We do not have a single answer to this question, because there are too many variables. For example:

  • Have they used flotation devices prior to the swim lessons?
  • Has there been a water accident for themselves or someone in the family?
  • What do they do at bath time?
  • Do they allow water to go over their face during baths or showers?
  • Do they practice away from the swim lessons?
  • Is there any separation issue with the parent?
  • Are there any learning difficulties or challenges that need to be addressed?

This and so much more affects how many lessons it will take. Our suggestion is once you start taking swimming lessons, continue with the lessons until not only the swimmer but the parent and the coach feel like a solid foundation has been built for safety around the water as well as swimming skills.

What can I be doing at home to prepare my child for swim lessons?

Quite a lot, and none of it requires a pool. It is all about introducing water in a calm, peaceful way:

  • Keep bath time calm, and make sure the water is warm
  • Allow water to run over the face — even for a newborn. Change the amount of water and the speed at which you let it flow as comfort increases
  • Never tilt the head back. That is the opposite direction from what they will do when they start swim lessons
  • Work on getting the mouth and/or nose in the water, either at bath time or by using cups or bowls. They will learn not to drink the water, and eventually to blow bubbles
  • Start out sitting up. Over time, as the child grows, let them lay on their tummy with hands and legs touching the tub, and encourage play
  • Introduce the ears to the water — this is typically the uncomfortable part. Keep the water shallow so the child can lay on their back and get used to water in the ears, not completely covering them at first, then increase the water level until the ears are covered
  • Whether on their tummy or their back, encourage kicking and splashing, and getting used to the water

Keep it playful. A child who is comfortable with water on their face and in their ears arrives at that first lesson with a real head start.
