Private and semi-private swim instruction in Woodstock and Acworth, GA.
You choose your own days, times, and how often — and they don't have to be the same every week. Tuesday one week, Thursday the next is fine. Book as far ahead as you can, though: consistency is what builds skills, and spots fill up.
Drowning is the leading cause of accidental death in children under 14. Our mission is straightforward: teach every swimmer to be safe in the water.
Lessons built to fit around your family — not the other way around.
You pay for lessons. That is all. No sign-up cost, nothing yearly, and no extra charge for adding a second or third child to the family.
Book lessons one at a time and you are billed for that week on the Monday it begins — nothing is owed when you book. Or take a monthly subscription package if you would rather pay a set amount on the same date each month.
Babies who have never been in the water, children building real strokes, and adults who never got the chance to learn. Most swim schools stop at children.
Two children at fifteen minutes each, three at ten. You buy the time and you split it. See how it works →
Swim Angelfish Whisperers Level 1 — specialized training for autism, sensory sensitivities and ADHD. Plus Side by Side, where a parent stays in the water with children up to four.
Lessons do not stop for weather or for winter, and saltwater is gentler on skin and eyes than a chlorinated pool.
You can talk to us. Coach Kelly answers on 404-316-1850 — not a front desk. Before you start we will set up a call with Kelly and every coach who will be working with your family, to hear about your swimmer, any fears or particular needs, and what would help them most.
Every stroke, every skill, every lesson at Swimming and Beyond starts with the same two things: body balance and breath control. Master these, and swimming becomes natural. Without them, nothing else sticks.
Your body is already buoyant — you should never feel like you're fighting to keep any part of it above water. We teach swimmers to work with the water, not against it. That means using the full arm and leg — not just hands and feet — to create power and forward motion. Bigger movements are not faster movements. By learning to balance the body and breathe rhythmically (in through the mouth, out through the nose), our swimmers stay relaxed and efficient in the water. When breathing isn't a struggle, the mind and body work together — and confidence follows naturally.
Before we teach freestyle, we teach survival. Every swimmer learns to float on their back, climb out of the pool, and handle the unexpected — because real water safety means knowing what to do when things go wrong.
We ask about your background, fears, and experience before the first lesson. Coaching babies, beginners, and competitive swimmers requires a different approach — and we adjust from day one.
All of our coaches teach with songs and rhythm. A steady beat calms nervous swimmers, makes each skill easier to remember, and turns practice into something children look forward to.
Every coach at Swimming and Beyond is certified and personally trained by our founder Kelly Keating — bringing four decades of expertise in water safety, survival and stroke development to every lesson.

Yes. Lessons are sold in 30 minutes, and how that time is divided between your children is up to you. One lesson can be one child for the full thirty, two children at fifteen minutes each, or three at ten. Book two lessons and four children can each have fifteen.
The important part is simply to book the amount of time you want — we sort the split out with you at the pool. This is different from a semi-private, where two swimmers are in the water at the same time for the whole lesson. See how it works →
We specialize in private and semi-private (2 swimmers) lessons. Small groups of 3–4 swimmers are available upon request — contact us at swimmingandbeyond@gmail.com to arrange. We don't offer large group classes, because individualized instruction is what produces real water safety and skill.

Water safety is at the core of everything we teach, especially for the youngest swimmers. Drowning is the leading cause of accidental death in children ages 1–4 in the United States. Starting with our Happy Baby Water Time classes, and throughout our program, we design everything to be based on body awareness, breath control, and safety habits — the building blocks of a lifetime of confidence and survival in the water.
